Holly got the Room 5 class award on Friday 4  December for amazing recall of basic maths facts, addition and subtraction and multiplication and division. Well done Holly.

Jamie got the Room 5 Class award on Friday 19 October for a good start of the term and focusing very well on his learning tasks. Well done Jamie.

Daniel got the class award on Friday 24 August for great progress in the recall of basic maths facts. He can recall the addition and subtraction facts to 20 with speed and accuracy and this award recognises the time he has put into learning them. Well done Daniel.

Liam got the class award in room 5 for being a good team member and showing leadership.Well done Liam.

Rianna got the room 5 class award for writing good stories and using interesting words. Well done Rianna.

Room 5 Visit Poorman's Stream

On Friday 3 August in cold and showery conditions Room 5 brave the conditions and walked down to Poorman's Stream for a stream study. Mel from the Nelson City Council was there to tell us what to do and how to use the equipment. We were finding out how healthy the stream was and what we can do to ensure it stays healthy. We had to measure the water quality and flow. We had net to catch the small creatures that live in and on the water. We had a great time in spite of the weather and we caught lots of mayflies.

We have been trying hard to improve our writing in Room 5 and Akiana got the class award for doing exactly this on Friday 3 August. She also got it for very good progress in reading. Well done Akiana.

Georgia got the class award on Friday 27 July for great progress with her swimming. Well done Georgia. It's also great to hear that you are now doing more lessons after school. Good luck.

During the first two weeks of Term 3 Room 5 were doing swimming lessons at The ASB Aquatic Centre. Everyone enjoyed their time at the pool and here are some photos of what we were doing.

Kayla got the first class award for Term Three. She got it for a great start to the term and problem solving. Well done Kayla.

At the end of Term  Two Jamie Hampson got the Principal Challenge for being physically active. Jamie tried very hard at all the physical activities that we did during Term Two. Well done on a great effort, Jamie.

Ben got the class award in Room 5 on the 22 June for great reading and writing. Keep this up Ben.

Madison got the room 5 class award on 15 June for being attentive and taking an active part in all class activities. Well done Madison.

Kaitlyn  got the Room 5 class award for very good achievement in Reading, Writing and Maths. Great learning, Kaitlyn. Well done.

Finlay got the Room 5 class award for great cross country running and amazing work in maths. What a great week Finlay. Well done!

Congratulations Damon. This award recognises the good progress you are making with your writing. A feature of your writing is the number of ideas you include. We look forward to your stories getting better and better. It was quite funny how your brother Ryan got the class award on the same day as well. Keep this up.

The Term 1 Principals Challenge for being an Effective Communicator in Room 5 went to Nina Grant. Nina has been an effective communicator in many ways and really deserves this special award.

This week in Room 5 Holly Burell Nicolls has been given the class award. She shown great spelling and writing skills and has been an excellent role model for the other students in Room 5. Congratulations Holly. Keep up your great work.

Room 5 Weekly Class Prize Student.

This week in Room 5, Alyssa got the weekly class prize. Alyssa worked very hard across all curriculum areas and has shown a positive attitude to her classwork and her classmates. Congratulations Alyssa! Keep up the good work.

In week 6 of term one Maia Hughes was awarded the class prize. This was because she has shown very good spelling skills and has also produced a range of good written work on a consistent basis. Congratulations to Maia for her hard work.
